FAIRYTALE BALLET
In this fun class, a magical make-believe component and theme will engage students by tapping into their creativity and stimulating their imagination.  Children will explore dance through the use of props such as wands, tutus, tiaras, crowns and capes.  Enchanting stories and fairy tales are used to inspire and encourage a love for dance.  Students are guided age appropriately through consistent structure and outlines to learn elementary ballet vocabulary and French ballet terms.  Lessons will strengthen coordination, develop poise, balance and flexibility and encourage a relationship to music.    Appropriate attire is a leotard, tights and ballet slippers.

MOMMY AND ME FAIRYTALE BALLET
Mommies and their baby ballerinas will whirl, twirl and explore ballet with tutus, tiaras, sparkling wands, imagery, musical instruments and props.  This class teaches basic toddler ballet by engaging and inspiring little dancers’ imaginations and creativity with magical themed fairy tales, stories and props.  The class focus is on movement, coordination, balance, rhythm and stretching.  Appropriate attire is a leotard, tights and ballet slippers.

CHINESE DANCE CLASS – NEW
This class will teach different styles of Classical Chinese Dance with a variety of oriental choreography.  The instructor, who has a college degree in ballet, is one of the directors and representatives of the local CCTV outlet and has long been involved in organizing various programs for local events.  Although not required, it is recommended, that students have some past dance experience in classic dance forms, and are adept at dancing.

Bring fairytales to life with Comedy Fu’s professional training program for youth that want to take the stage.  Each session will work on a one act play that allows the student to grow their performing skills in straight theater all the way to musical theater.  Each workshop session will work on the actors improvisational skills as well as acting and musical theater skills.  Comedy Fu provides a safe and fun environment where the kids can explore their acting skills and build self-esteem.  Come and laugh like you have never laughed before!  A showcase for friends and family will be held on December 16 at the Vistas Community Center to highlight what was learned in class. COMEDY FU CHILDREN’S THEATER COMPANY with MOVE PERFORMING ARTS
Be a part of Move Performing Arts very own “Comedy Fu Children’s Theater Company.”  This season the company will perform a shortened adaptation of William Shakespeare’s, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”  The company provides a professional training program for young people that have a love for the stage and provides them mentoring from some of the best actors in the community.  Students will explore movement, character creation and scene structure to develop or improve acting and improve skills.  No experience is required.  This class takes you a step higher than the “Fairytale Alive” acting class. Serving as an ensemble member requires participants to make a serious commitment to learning the art of theatre and committing to the entire rehearsal and show schedule which begins in September and continues into February.  Three class payments are due on September 9, November 4 and January 6.

COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (CERT) TRAINING – NEW
Emergencies are, by definition, crises.  Training and preparedness can often enable a managed response that keeps crises from evolving into a tragedy.  To help citizens become better prepared and trained, the City of Las Vegas is offering Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training.  The training is free and all participants receive a free loaded backpack upon graduation.  Think of it as a gift to yourself, your family and your community! DOG OBEDIENCE, AGILITY, THERAPY AND MORE!
All dogs require training and, as a pet parent, it is your responsibility to give it to them! Group training offers unique benefits for dogs and handlers and is a fun and affordable way to get the job done.  This class will increase your dog’s social skills on the go and at home as they interact with other dogs and people.  Group classes also teach your dog increased obedience under high levels of distraction as you train in a real world environment.  Your confidence in your skills as a handler will increase and you’ll know what to do when the unexpected happens.  Each session starts with a bonus in-depth orientation just for the handlers to answer questions, review equipment and go over tips and techniques to prepare your dog for class.  This class is open to all breeds and dogs of all ages including vaccinated puppies. Handlers of all ages are welcome but those 12 and younger require adult supervision.  See dramatic changes in just five weeks! PAINT YOUR ANIMAL TOTEM WORKSHOP
Do you have a special connection with animals? Discover the totem animal that resonates strongly with you and express it creatively with paint on canvas.  This one-day workshop focuses on expressing energies that connect us with members of the animal kingdom.  Each participant will complete a 14”x18” acrylic painting on canvas during the workshop.  No prior experience is necessary.  All supplies are included.

DRAWING AND PAINTING FOR KIDS
This class allows artists of all abilities to pick a subject of their choice (florals, landscapes, seascapes, portraits etc.) and create a piece of artwork with personal attention from the instructor who has more than 25 years teaching experience.  Students will be taught the basics of composition, color selection and mixing, rendering techniques as well as proportion and perspective.  This class is limited in size to ensure that each student receives the instruction and attention they need to create their masterpiece! PRE-COMPETITIVE FENCING
This class is for intermediate fencers ages eight to adult and is designed to develop the technical and physical skills necessary to succeed to be a future competitive fencer.  Fencers must have their own uniform consisting of a mask, glove, jacket, plastron, knickers and socks.  Fencers also need to bring their own electric equipment: lame, body cord and electric weapon for electric bouting. PILATES GROUP REFORMER CLASSES—“RE-FORM” YOUR BODY
Beginning Pilates: Learn about Pilates in this beginning level class.  You will be taught to operate your Balanced Body IQ Reformer safely, apply six basic principles of Pilates, understand the Pilates language and perform a group of beginning exercises that are the building blocks of an effective Pilates workout.  This class should be repeated until you feel comfortable moving on to the intermediate level.  
Intermediate Pilates: This class expands your repertoire into a full body Pilates workout. Increase your vitality and strength and improve your flexibility, coordination, and balance.  Make this enjoyable workout an essential part of your weekly fitness maintenance.  The level of difficulty will be determined by the experience of the participants in each class.  (Prerequisite:  Introduction to Pilates)

Our Little Lions class is a great way for children five to seven years of age to learn the ABCs of self-defense, gain anti-bullying skills and be introduced to the multi-cultural martial arts systems.  Studies have shown that during pre-school and early elementary school years, children are building eight fundamental skills that are essential to their growth and development. The Little Lions program targets these skills, along with other disciplines of listening, respect and courtesy through a comprehensive training system that is specifically designed to generate maximum results. The exercise and physical fundamentals incorporated into the program are challenging and a great way for students to gain flexibility, balance, strength, self-confidence and self-esteem.  We also understand the importance of fun and variety to maintain high interest and participation. Any child who completes this program may have a developmental edge in their early childhood which can make the transition into adolescence much easier. This class allows artists of all abilities to pick a subject of their choice (florals, landscapes, seascapes, portraits etc.) and create a piece of artwork with personal attention from the instructor who has more than 25 years teaching experience.  Students will be taught the basics of composition, color selection and mixing, rendering techniques as well as proportion and perspective.  This class is limited in size to ensure that each student receives the instruction and attention they need to create their masterpiece! ANIMATED: COMPUTER CODING CLASS FOR KIDS
“Animated” is an innovative class that lets your child experiment with digital art and technology while they learn computer programming basics.  The curriculum uses SCRATCH, an easy-to-understand programming language developed by MIT Labs.  This class is a fun, engaging way to introduce coding and digital animation to your child. No coding experience is required and those students with coding experience will layer concepts to create more sophisticated projects.  All laptops, software and materials are provided. KINDERMUSIK:  IMAGINE THAT! “SEE WHAT I SAW!”
Take your child on an imaginary trip to Grasshopper Park where they can slide, swing, see-saw up and down and then make musical phrases that mirror this play and movement.  Recreating this experience at home is a snap with the park play set complete with trees, grass, a fence, lake, two children, a sailboat and more.  Classes are held with parent/caregiver present for the last 15 minutes, preparing the child for upcoming school day experiences.
