The Summerlin Firecracker 5K kicks-off the community’s Independence Day festivities! Be at the Trails Park at 7 p.m. to run for fun, or simply cheer your “patriot” across the finish line. An awards ceremony will be held immediately following the 5K event for the top finishers in each age category. The 5k entry fee is $30 per person if registered on or before Tuesday, July 2. Day-of registration is $35 per person.
The Summerlin One-Mile Fun Run/Walk starts approximately 15 minutes following the start of the Firecracker 5K Run. Bring the family and enjoy a festive walk along the Patriotic Parade route. Participants of all ages are welcome! The entry fee is $25 if registered on or before Monday, July 2. Day-of registration is $30 per person.
Registration forms are available now at the Gardens, Trails, Willows and Vistas Community Centers. All participants receive a souvenir T-shirt. Pre-registered participants may pick up their race packets from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, July 2 at the Trails Community Center or the day of the race beginning at 5:30 p.m. For more information, please call The Summerlin Council at 702.341.5500.

Residents are invited to show their colors at The Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade taking place Wednesday, July 4. This time-honored tradition allows friends, family and neighbors to gather for a good old-fashioned hometown parade through the streets of Summerlin!
The parade begins at 9 a.m. and travels along flag-lined streets from Hillpointe and Hills Center, along Village Center Circle and concludes on Trailwood Drive. Arrive early to get a prime viewing area along the route.

Winter is knocking at your door to announce the annual Hometown Holidays event on November 28 and 29 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Gardens Community Center and Park. Summerlin has all sorts of festivities in store, and spreading holiday cheer is just the beginning of this two-day celebration. Residents will enjoy a variety of holiday activities including cookie decorating, reindeer rides, visits with Santa, holiday music, and much more.
